Questions
Frequently asked questions
We're currently in the community testing phase. We expect limited pilot availability in 2026, with broader distribution to follow as manufacturing scales.
Our target production cost is $35 per home unit — designed to be dramatically more accessible than conventional air conditioning. Final pricing will depend on manufacturing scale and regional distribution costs.
The core evaporative cooling effect is passive, but the fan and sensor system currently require a low-power (50W) electrical connection. A solar-powered, fully off-grid version is in our research pipeline.
TerraCool uses an engineered terracotta matrix with optimized porosity and airflow geometry — developed through our own materials research to maximize evaporative efficiency beyond standard desert coolers.
